Bring it in
Walk in or book ahead. Tell us what happened, what you've noticed and anything else that may help us understand the fault.
You don't need to diagnose the fault or find the right technician first. Start at any open The iPhone Guy store, and we'll manage the repair path from intake through testing and collection.
Walk-ins are welcome. Booking can make intake faster, but it isn't required.
Simple repairs can move through these steps quickly. Complex faults may need more diagnosis, but the approval process stays the same.
Walk in or book ahead. Tell us what happened, what you've noticed and anything else that may help us understand the fault.
If the fault is straightforward and the repair is clear, we can often quote the required work directly.
When disassembly or fault-finding is required, we'll explain the assessment before we begin. The standard assessment is $89.
We explain what we've found and the proposed repair. If additional work is needed, you approve it before we proceed.
We complete the agreed repair and test the device. Some comprehensive tests may require your passcode or device access.
We'll let you know when the device is ready. Normally, you collect from the store where you left it unless another arrangement has been made.
A cracked screen with an otherwise working device is very different from a device that won't power on. We only use the assessment path when we actually need to diagnose the fault.
If the required repair is obvious, we can often give you the repair price without a paid assessment.
If we need to disassemble, test or fault-find the device, the standard assessment is $89. If you proceed with the approved repair, that $89 is credited toward it.
Liquid assessment includes disassembly, cleaning and basic soldering. Further parts or repair work are quoted separately.
Finding another fault doesn't give us permission to add unapproved work.
Where diagnosis is required, we work out what is actually preventing the device from operating correctly.
If further parts or work are required, we explain the proposed repair and the additional cost before proceeding.
You can approve the repair or choose not to proceed. If a standard paid assessment has already been completed, the assessment remains payable if you decline the repair.
Microsoldering, board-level faults, data recovery and some complex repairs may be handled by a specialist technician elsewhere in our store network. You don't need to work out where that technician is.
Leave the device with your local open store. We manage the internal movement of the device and normally return it to the originating store for collection, unless another arrangement suits you better.
We test the functions relevant to the repair and, where practical, the wider device so problems aren't handed back unnoticed.
We may need your passcode when comprehensive functional testing requires access to the operating system. We do not routinely browse personal content.
Testing a camera does not require us to browse your camera roll. Our focus is verifying the device functions involved in the repair.
Back up your device before repair where possible. We take reasonable care with customer data, but customers remain responsible for maintaining backups.
No. Walk-ins are welcome at current open stores. Booking is available if you'd prefer to organise your visit ahead of time.
Some straightforward repairs can be completed quickly, while many common repairs are often completed within about an hour. Timing depends on workload, parts availability, the device and the fault.
We'll explain what we've found and the proposed repair so you can decide whether proceeding makes sense for you.
Yes. Any advertised repair can start at any current open store. If specialist work is required, we manage that internally.
